Our teams have made outstanding progress overnight, restoring nearly 90% of customers impacted by Tuesday’s storms. Our techs have identified the locations where damage to our network has occurred and are working to repair or replace equipment or other network components. It is important to note that although power to your home or business has returned, sometimes commercial power to our network facility has not yet been restored.
We are estimating to have nearly all customers restored by end of day today. There may be some remaining pocket outages affecting individual streets, homes or businesses due to more extensive damage to lines or equipment. In those situations, our teams will continue to work throughout the evening and holiday weekend towards final storm-impacted restoration goal of end of day Saturday, August 31.
Understanding Service Outages After a Storm
For some customers, after power has returned to their home or business, they may experience intermittent service outages. We apologize for the inconvenience, and these instances may be due to the following situations:
- Temporary Cable:In an effort to restore services as soon as possible after the storm, our crews may install temporary lines. Some of these temporary lines may get damaged or cut during debris clean-up and will need to be replaced later. If that occurs, we may need to suspend service for a short time to make additional repairs.
- Generators: We use fuel-based generators to temporarily power to our network to home and businesses until commercial power is restored. Dedicated technicians manage and maintain the generators 24/7 to make sure our network receives power to offer our customers a connectivity solution.
